GVSU's Cue and Stoll named GLIAC golfers of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the first week of spring competition for conference men's and women's golf teams. Grand Valley State swept the awards, with junior Manuel Cue and senior Olivia Stoll receiving recognition. 

MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Manuel Cue, Grand Valley State
Following his second win of the 2024-25 season, GVSU men’s golfer Manuel Cue Vargas was named the GLIAC’s Golfer of the Week. Cue won the Ralph Hargett Memorial event down in North Carolina earlier this week, finishing at nine under. He shot rounds of 72 (E), 67 (-5), and 68 (-4) to clinch the individual win. The junior made 15 birdies and one eagle in the three rounds and helped GVSU to a third-place team finish. He is currently ranked 20th in the latest Scoreboard individual rankings.
WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Olivia Stoll, Grand Valley State
GVSU senior Olivia Stoll has been named GLIAC Women’s Golfer of the Week after recording a win at the SMSU Spring Invitational. Stoll carded rounds of 70 (-2) and 71(-1) to win the two-day event by three strokes. She made eight birdies to claim her first victory of the 2024-25 campaign. Her win was a key part of a Laker effort to win the team title as well, as GVSU earned a 21 stroke victory.
