WSU's Ofield and GVSU's Park earn GLIAC golfer of the week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its third weekly awards of the spring season for conference men's and women's golf teams. Wayne State freshman Grant Ofield and Grand Valley State junior Evelyn Park received honors.

MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Grant Ofield, Wayne State
Freshman Grant Ofield (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills Northern) was named GLIAC Men's Golfer of the Week for the first time in his career on Wednesday. The recognition comes after Co-Medalist honors at the Belterra Classic on Tuesday, just the second tournament of his collegiate career. Ofield and Missouri S&T's Rizq Adam Rohizam remained tied despite 54 holes of regulation and four playoff holes. The rookie Warrior carded a 209, which included rounds of 71, 69 and 69, the first two rounds in the 60s of his career as well as the second and third that were below par. Ofield led Wayne State to a second-place showing among the 10-team field.
WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Evelyn Park, Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State junior golfer Evelyn Park was named the GLIAC Women’s Golfer of the Week for the first time in her career. In a field stacked with ranked golfers, Park finished the Lynn Invite in a tie for sixth. She carded rounds of 74 (+2), 71 (-1), and 77 (+5) over the two-day event. Park sank nine birdies this week and moved up to 187th in the national rankings.
