GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its fourth weekly awards of the fall season for conference men's and women's golf teams. Davenport swept the awards, with junior Cayden Kwan and senior Lauren Gervais being recognized for their standout play.
MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Cayden Kwan, Davenport
Cayden Kwan of the Davenport University men’s golf team has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. The junior secured his first career first place finish this weekend at the DU Panther Invite at the Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta, Mich. Kwan finished with a two-round score of 139 (-3) with a low-round of 69 (-2) on the second day. Kwan registered an eagle and five birdies through 36 holes of action.
WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Lauren Gervais, Davenport
Senior Lauren Gervais won medalist honors at the Davenport Invitational with a one-under par score of 143. She was one stroke better than Kendall Farm of Lewis and was one stroke off the school's 36-hole record of 142 set by Hannah Meloche in 2019.
