FSU's Gillard and GVSU's Ingram selected as GLIAC softball player and pitcher of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its awards following the seventh week of the 2026 softball season. Ferris State junior outfielder Emma Gillard received GLIAC Player of the Week recognition while Grand Valley State senior righthander Nevaeh Ingram was tabbed as GLIAC Pitcher of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Emma Gillard, Ferris State
Ferris State University junior outfielder Emma Gillard led the Bulldogs to wins in three of four games on the road this past weekend, hitting a team-leading .692 overall with nine hits, seven RBI's and six runs scored in the four-game stretch. Gillard also produced two triples and a double while drawing a walk in 13 official at-bats as FSU swept Roosevelt on Friday before earning a split against Parkside on Saturday in Romeoville, Ill. The junior slugger finished the weekend with a 1.077 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base performance in addition to stealing three bases. She had two hits or more in all four games and drove in two runs in three different outings for Ferris State, which improved to 21-16 overall this year.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Nevaeh Ingram, Grand Valley State
Senior pitcher Nevaeh Ingram has been named the GLIAC pitcher of the week for the first time this season. Ingram tossed a complete game shutout allowing just three hits in the 8-0 mercy rule win against Wayne State. She struck out two batters and did not allow a walk. Ingram leads the GLIAC with a 1.83 ERA this season with six complete games tossed and 24 strikeouts.
