PNW's Dickson and FSU's Peisley selected for GLIAC tennis athletes of the week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the eighth week of the 2026 tennis spring season. Purdue Northwest senior Samuel Dickson and Ferris State freshman Madeline Peisley earned recognition. 

MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Samuel Dickson, Purdue Northwest
Purdue Northwest Men’s Tennis senior Samuel Dickson has been named this week's GLIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week after a great week of play. Dickson played tough competition all week and was competitive in every match. His highlight of the week came when he defeated #25 Tusculum’s number one singles player, 6-4, 6-4, for a big win. He then followed up with a big doubles win against Grand Valley State’s number one doubles team in a thrilling 6-4 match.
WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Madeline Peisley, Ferris State
Ferris State University freshman standout Madeline Peisley led the Bulldogs to a conference-opening road win last Thursday (March 19) as FSU topped Saginaw Valley State 5-2 in Midland. Peisley went 2-0 in the league opener, which included a 6-4 triumph at two doubles to start the day. She also recorded a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 victory at one singles as FSU improved to 7-5 overall this year. She currently owns a 15-4 overall singles record to date this season for the Bulldogs.
