GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 15 of the 2025-26 women's basketball season. Wayne State graduate student forward Gabi Lutchka was selected as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week while Ferris State senior guard Mia Riley was tabbed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Gabi Lutchka, Wayne State
Wayne State University women's basketball forward Gabi Lutchka (Grass Lake, Mich.) has been selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this year, as announced by the league office. The graduate student earns the honor after contributing a game-high 20 points (7-of-13 FG, 3-of-7 3PT, 3-of-3 FT), eight rebounds (three offensive), and a game-best five assists during a 98-61 win over Lake Superior State.  During the LSSU contest, Lutchka splashed a buzzer-beating jumper before halftime to become the 22nd player in program history to score 1,000 points.  In the 94-78 win over Saginaw Valley State, Lutchka once again led all scorers with 26 points (10-of-13 FG, 6-of-7 3PT), while grabbing seven boards and dishing out one assist.  In the two wins, she totaled 46 points on 17-26  (65 percent) from the field, and 9-of-14 (64 percent) from beyond the arc, while making all three foul shot attempts.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mia Riley, Ferris State
Ferris State University senior guard Mia Riley led the nation’s 13th-ranked Bulldogs to a 2-1 mark in the final week of regular season action, totaling a team-leading 40 points, 34 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Riley averaged 13.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals as FSU closed the year with a 24-5 regular season mark. The senior standout’s week included 18 points, 13 rebounds and three assists on Saturday in a 71-62 road win at Davenport to close the regular season. She also had 16 points and 10 rebounds in a double-double setback and second-ranked rival Grand Valley State along with six points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals versus Michigan Tech in last Monday’s home win.
