FSU's Riley and RU's Outlay earn GLIAC women's basketball player of the week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 14 of the 2025-26 women's basketball season. Ferris State senior guard Mia Riley was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week while Roosevelt junior guard Marie Outlay earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mia Riley, Ferris State
Ferris State University senior guard Mia Riley had a huge week for the nationally 16th-ranked Bulldogs, who ran their winning streak to nine consecutive games with a pair of victories. Riley tallied a team-leading 25.5 points, 13.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game in a road win at Lake Superior State and a Senior Day home win over #20 Northern Michigan. She netted 51 points, 26 rebounds, 14 assists and a steal in the two-game stretch while shooting 46.2% (6-13) from three-point range and going 15-of-21 (71.4%) at the free throw line. The senior standout tallied a game-high 31 points to go with 11 rebounds in a double-double effort on Monday as FSU closed out a four-game road stretch with a decisive 75-43 win at Lake Superior State. She then came back to notch a rare triple-double performance on Saturday, tallying 20 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in FSU’s 80-68 triumph over NMU. It marked only the fourth time in school history a FSU women’s basketball player has notched a triple-double in a game. The two wins lifted Ferris State to 22-4 overall this year along with 16-2 in GLIAC play. Riley had a squad-best 17 defensive rebounds in the two games as well.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Marie Outlay, Roosevelt
For the third time this season, Marie Outlay was named the GLIAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week after again leading the charge for Roosevelt on that end of the floor. The junior surpassed 100 steals on the season with nine thefts this weekend and also added five blocks and 14 rebounds in the Lakers’ split of the weekend. Perhaps even more impressive, Outlay was called for just two fouls in 70 minutes across the two games while guarding the opposition’s best player for the majority of the time. Outlay currently ranks second in the nation with 108 steals and leads Division II with 4.32 steals per game this season while her 1.36 blocks per game ranks second in the conference.
