Bracket set for 2026 GLIAC Women's Basketball Tournament

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) revealed the bracket for the 2026 women's basketball tournament Saturday, following the conclusion of the regular season.

The tournament is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 4 with four quarterfinal games at campus sites.

Five-time reigning GLIAC regular season champion Grand Valley State (27-1, 19-1 GLIAC), the nation's No. 2-ranked team, is the No. 1 seed for the tournament. The Lakers will host No. 8 seed Lake Superior State (8-20, 5-15 GLIAC) in Allendale. 

GVSU boasts the GLIAC top-ranked scoring offense (79.4 ppg) and scoring defense (53.2 ppg). LSSU will counter with the league's leading rebounder, Grace Bradford (9.6 rpg).

Second-seeded Wayne State (22-6, 17-3 GLIAC) will welcome No. 7 Roosevelt (8-19, 7-13 GLIAC) to Detroit for a 5:30 p.m. opening round contest. Wayne State handed Grand Valley State its lone loss of the season while the Lakers have qualified for the conference postseason tournament in each of its first two years at the Division II level. 

Ferris State (24-5, 17-3 GLIAC), the tournament's No. 3 seed, will begin postseason play at home in Big Rapids against No. 6 Parkside (14-14, 9-11 GLIAC). 

Northern Michigan (24-6, 15-5 GLIAC), the No. 4 seed, will square off with UP rival No. 5 Michigan Tech (16-12, 10-10 GLIAC) at 5:30 p.m. in Marquette. 

The highest remaining seed following the quarterfinals will host the semifinals and the championship games on March 7 and 8, respectively.
