2026 GLIAC PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Evan Morrison, Grand Valley State
Senior shortstop Evan Morrison becomes the eighth GVSU Laker to be named the GLIAC Player of the Year, and the first since 2014. Morrison tallied another record-breaking year for the Lakers offensively, but also provided highlight plays defensively. Morrison hit .395 during the regular season, and led the league in hits (83), runs scored with a GVSU single-season record of 74 and triples with six. Morrison leads the GLIAC and ranks second nationally in the toughest to strike out category (6). He opened the year with a 31-game hitting streak and reached base in 45-of-49 games. He scored a run in 36 games and scored two or more runs 21 times. Morrison tallied 26 multi-hit games, including 12 games with three hits or more. He reached base via a hit, walk or hit by pitch 111 times and accounted for 110 runs (runs-RBI). Morrison has reached base safely in 100-of-106 games played in his two years with the Lakers, including 159 hits, 147 runs scored and 79 RBI.
2026 GLIAC PITCHER OF THE YEAR
Collin Bradley, Grand Valley State
Senior pitcher Collin Bradley is the sixth Grand Valley State hurler to earn GLIAC Pitcher of the Year honors, and the first since 2014. Bradley has been outstanding from the opening pitch of the 2026 season, recording a GLIAC-best 9-0 record with a 1.93 ERA. He has yielded 16 earned runs in 74.2 innings with 53 strikeouts and set program records earlier this season with 28.2 consecutive innings without allowing a run and 34.1 innings without allowing an earned run. He has allowed two runs or less in 10 of 12 starts and logged 6.0 IP or more in seven starts. Bradley leads the GLIAC in WHIP (0.92) and walks allowed per nine innings (1.81). During his career Bradley ranks third in wins with 24, fifth in strikeouts with 182 and sixth in innings pitched with 223.1.
2026 GLIAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Austin Cicerone, Saginaw Valley State
Austin Cicerone earned the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year award as the starting third baseman for Saginaw Valley State. Cicerone posted a fielding percentage of .972 through 46 games with 107 total chances, 39 put outs, 65 assists, and only three errors. The junior also helped turn six double plays and raised his career fielding percentage to .914 while cutting down his errors by 11 from each of his first two seasons. His three errors rank as the least by a third basemen in the GLIAC.
2026 GLIAC FRESHMAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Drew Kosteba, Purdue Northwest
Purdue Northwest freshman outfielder Drew Kosteba has been named the GLIAC Freshman Player of the Year, becoming the first freshman in program history to earn the prestigious honor. Kosteba delivered a standout debut campaign for the Pride, emerging as one of the team’s most consistent and productive offensive threats throughout the season. Starting all 41 games, he compiled a .329 batting average, second-best on the team, while leading the squad with 52 hits. His ability to consistently put the ball in play and produce quality at-bats made him a key fixture at the top and middle of the lineup. In 158 at-bats, Kosteba tallied 24 runs scored, nine doubles, three triples, and three home runs, showcasing both gap power and extra-base ability. He drove in a team-leading 36 runs, further highlighting his impact in run-producing situations. His team best .481 slugging percentage and .864 OPS underline his well-rounded offensive performance, while his .383 on-base percentage reflected a disciplined approach at the plate.
2026 GLIAC FRESHMAN PITCHER OF THE YEAR
Jackson Kees, Grand Valley State
Jackson Kees has been named the GLIAC Freshman Pitcher of the year after an outstanding season on the mound. Kees is 8-1 with a 3.47 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 59.2 innings pitched. He has logged 5.0 innings or more in eight of 12 starts and yielded two runs or less in nine starts. Kees’ eight wins as a freshman is the top single-season total in GVSU annals. He ranks in the top five of six individual GLIAC pitching categories and GVSU is 10-2 in games started by Kees.
2026 TROY BERRY AWARD
Gabe Zeldes, Wayne State
Gabe Zeldes (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Detroit Country Day), one of the 10 male honorees for the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team, became Wayne State's second Troy Berry Award recipient (Ryan Szlachcic - 2023) in the past four seasons. The Exercise and Sport Science major with minors in Business Administration and Public Health earned Athletic Director's Honor Roll (term GPA 3.5+) recognition for his first four semesters, including a 4.0 term (Winter 2024). He will be a recipient of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award for the second consecutive year this summer, and the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team for a second straight season this spring. The junior is a member, and Vice President, of the WSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as well as Delta Epsilon Mu, a professional fraternity for students and professionals interested in health-related fields. Zeldes was selected to serve as the GLIAC National SAAC representative and won the Undergraduate Research and Creative Projects Award. Zeldes has donated over 250 hours in the community during his collegiate career, including 34 in 2025-26. This season, he's hit .214 (9-for-42) in 30 games (8 starts) with 11 runs, 2 doubles, 1 home run, 2 RBI, 3 walks, 5 hit-by-pitches, and 2 stolen bases.
2026 GLIAC COACH OF THE YEAR
Jordan Keur, Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State head coach Jordan Keur guided the Lakers to a 41-8 regular season mark, including the 2026 GLIAC Baseball regular season championship with a 20-4 mark. GVSU’s 41 regular season wins mark just the third time in program history that the Lakers eclipsed the 40-win mark in the regular season. GVSU leads the GLIAC in 15 team categories, while also holding down the top spot in the GLIAC individual rankings. GVSU is 84-22 under Keur the last two years, including a ledger of 38-10 in GLIAC games. In three years at the helm Keur has now guided GVSU to a GLIAC Tournament title, a GLIAC regular season championship and three appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Keur reached the 100-win mark faster than another head coach in GVSU baseball history (145 games).
