Parkside's Lindquist and WSU's Miller recognized as GLIAC baseball player and pitcher of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its awards following the 11th week of the 2026 baseball season. Parkside senior infielder Jackson Lindquist was selected as GLIAC Player of the Week while Wayne State senior lefty Philip Miller was tabbed GLIAC Pitcher of the Week[

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jackson Lindquist, Parkside
Jackson Lindquist earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors after a standout week against Rockford and Roosevelt. Over 21 at-bats, Lindquist hit .429 with a 1.048 slugging percentage, collecting nine hits, including one double and four home runs, while driving in nine runs and scoring six times. Against Rockford alone, he tallied five RBIs and launched two home runs, highlighted by a grand slam. This marks the second consecutive week a Parkside player has earned this honor.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Philip Miller, Wayne State
Philip Miller (Flat Rock, Mich. / Woodhaven [Schoolcraft C.C. / Tusculum]) was named GLIAC Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career on Monday.  Miller made two appearances out of the bullpen last week for a total of seven innings pitched in which he gave up just one earned run on one hit for a 1.29 ERA with nine strikeouts, only one walk and a .045 batting average against. Five of those seven frames worked came on Saturday in Wayne State's 3-0 win over Purdue Northwest and were of the no-hit variety as he teamed up with starter and high school teammate Evan Langlois (Brownstown, Mich. / Woodhaven) for the Warriors' second no-hitter of the season and third in as many campaigns. Langlois and Miller, who improved to 5-0 on the season, secured WSU's first combined no-no since 2019. Philip's other appearance included two innings at home against Hillsdale on Tuesday.
