GVSU's Cue Vargas and FSU's Shannon earn GLIAC golfer of the week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its fourth weekly awards of the spring season for conference men's and women's golf teams. Grand Valley State senior Manuel Cue Vargas and Ferris State senior Kamryn Shannon received recognition. 

MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Manuel Cue Vargas, Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State men’s golfer Manuel Cue Vargas was named the GLIAC Golfer of the Week following his win at the Ken Partridge Invitational. This is the third time in his career that Cue has been named Golfer of the Week. This week, he helped the Lakers to a tournament win, along with picking up his third career win. He carded rounds of 68, 72, and 72 to finish at four under par, two strokes up on the second-place finisher. The
senior sank 12 birdies and one eagle across the three rounds.
WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Kamryn Shannon, Ferris State
Ferris State University senior Kamryn Shannon led the Bulldogs to a third-place team finish at the NC4K Classic this week in Grove City, Ohio. The Bulldog veteran tied for third overall with a 155 stroke total. Shannon shot a first-round 80 and a 75 in round two. A total of 14 schools were in the field and her performance helepd FSU finish with a 646 team total.
