GVSU's Estrada and SVSU's Decker named GLIAC baseball player and pitcher of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its awards following the eighth week of the 2026 baseball season. Grand Valley State junior third baseman Caleb Estrada earned GLIAC Player of the Week accolades while Saginaw Valley State senior southpaw Jack Decker was honored as GLIAC Pitcher of the Week. 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Caleb Estrada, Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State junior third baseman Caleb Estrada hit .526 for the weekend series at #19 Wayne State, going 10-for-19 with seven runs scored, three home runs, a double, nine RBIs and 20 total bases. Estrada had a slugging percentage of 1.053, on base percentage of .526 and an OPS of 1.105. Estrada collected two or more hits and runs in three-of-four games. He was 3-for-6 with three runs, two home runs and seven RBIs in the Lakers' 14-6 win in game three, while going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI in game four. Estrada leads the GLIAC in home runs with 12, ranks second in hits (55) and RBIs (45) and fourth in batting average (.407). In addition, Estrada has 17 multi-hit games, 12 multi-RBI games, a current 30-game reached base streak and a season-best 17-game hitting streak. 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jack Decker, Saginaw Valley State
Saginaw Valley State senior Jack Decker threw seven innings in the Cardinals win on Friday, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out nine. After giving up a run in the fifth, the senior pitcher retired eight in a row before allowing one walk. He sat down the next six batters to shut the door as he faced one above the minimum over the last 4.1 innings of work.
