GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its awards following the fourth week of play of the 2026 women's lacrosse season. Davenport sophomore attacker Addison Roe was honored as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week while Grand Valley State senior defender Karleigh Rothe was selected as GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Addison Roe, Davenport
Addison Roe of the Davenport University women’s lacrosse team has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday (March 9) afternoon. Roe finished the week with 14 goals in three games of action. The sophomore had the best game of her career to begin the week, netting a career-best six goals on eight shot attempts to lead DU to a 22-2 win over Tiffin on Tuesday (March 3). Roe then followed that up with a five-goal and one assist performance against Thomas More, as the Panthers secured a dominating 21-7 victory. Roe concluded the week with three goals and an assist against Walsh on Sunday (March 8). Looking ahead, Roe and the Panthers will continue their early-season road stretch, heading to SVSU on Friday (March 13), taking on the Cards at 1 p.m.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Karleigh Rothe, Grand Valley State
For the first time in her career, Grand Valley State senior defender Karleigh Rothe has been named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. Over two games, Rothe tallied seven groundballs and caused two turnovers on the Laker backline. Rothe totaled four groundballs and caused one turnover in Friday’s game at UIndy. She followed that up with three more groundballs and another caused turnover at Maryville on Sunday. This season, Rothe has picked up 10 groundballs and caused three turnovers.
