GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its awards following the third week of play of the 2026 women's lacrosse season. Saginaw Valley State swept the honors with junior midfielder/attack Briar-Rose Mackey (offense) and sophomore goalkeeper Mikaila Stone (defense) earning recognition.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Briar-Rose Mackey, Saginaw Valley State
Briar-Rose Mackey scored a hat trick to help lead the Cardinals to a 13-8 win over rival Northwood last week. Mackey tallied a shorthanded goal in the third quarter to put SVSU up 7-4. She added a free position goal in a man-up situation in the fourth that put the deficit back to three goals, 6-9, and completed the three-score performance in the final three minutes to extend the advantage to 12-7.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mikaila Stone, Saginaw Valley State
Mikaila Stone earned her first career win in net for the Cardinals in the 13-8 win over rival Northwood last week. Stone made several key saves in the game to preserve the lead in the game. She finished with 13 total saves along with four ground balls.
