DU's Pawenski and GVSU's Kees recognized as GLIAC baseball player and pitcher of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its awards following the third week of the 2026 baseball season. Davenport senior catcher Dylan Pawenski received GLIAC Player of the Week honors while Grand Valley State freshman righthander Jackson Kees earned GLIAC Pitcher of the Week accolades. 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dylan Pawenski, Davenport
Davenport senior catcher Dylan Pawenski finished a four-game series at Quincy by hitting .538 (7-of-13) with three home runs, four runs scored, and 11 RBI. He tied for second in DU history with seven RBI in Saturday's 19-9 win in Game 1. He belted two home runs going 4-of-6 with three runs scored. He also homered on Sunday in Game 2 and drove in three runs as DU fell in 10 innings, 9-8.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jackson Kees, Grand Valley State
Freshman pitcher Jackson Kees improved to 3-0 on the year with an impressive outing versus Hillsdale Sunday. Kees retired the first nine hitters he faced and allowed just two hits in six innings pitched as he was the starting pitcher in a 3-0 victory that was a combine shutout. In addition, he struck out two and did not allow a base runner past first base. Kees face no more than four batters in any of his six innings pitched. Kees has struck out 13 and allowed just 10 hits in his 16.0 innings pitched.
