The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced on Monday, Aug. 25 the results of the 2025 men's soccer preseason poll, as voted on by the league coaches.
Reigning GLIAC tournament champion Saginaw Valley State was selected No. 1, receiving six first-place votes and a total of 36 points. A year ago, SVSU hosted four rounds of the NCAA Division II Tournament, advancing to the quarterfinal round. The Cardinals will be headlined by top returners goalkeeper Nick Kay and midfielder Ryan Bovee.
Trailing SVSU by five points, at No. 2, earning one first-place vote is defending GLIAC regular season co-champion Roosevelt. The Lakers will be led by First Team All-GLIAC forward Oskar Schuster, who scored eight goals in the 2024 campaign.
Parkside was ranked third in the poll with 20 points. One point behind the Rangers, in fourth, was Davenport.
Purdue Nprthwest was selected to place fifth (17 points) followed closely by St. Cloud State (16).
Northern Michigan was predicted seventh (8 points).
