GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the seventh week of the 2025 baseball season. Saginaw Valley State sophomore outfielder Lucas Mead repeated as GLIAC Player of the Week while Davenport graduate student reliever Mason Hill was selected as GLIAC Pitcher of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lucas Mead, Saginaw Valley State
Sophomore outfielder Lucas Mead earned back-to-back GLIAC Player of the Week honors after an impressive performance at the plate, going 10-for-15 in three wins at William Jewell this weekend. Mead posted a .667 batting average and a .722 on-base percentage, drawing three walks. On Saturday, he hit for the cycle with a perfect 5-for-5 day, including two doubles and a grand slam. He finished the weekend with a 1.133 slugging percentage and a 1.755 OPS, raising all his season averages. Mead not only leads the GLIAC in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS, but he also holds the top batting average in all of Division II.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Mason Hill, Davenport
Davenport graduate student relief pitcher Mason Hill made one appearance against Grand Valley State on Sunday and earned his first win of the season. The Aquinas College transfer threw two innings and allowed just one hit with four strikeouts.
