Parkside's Rades and Davenport's Batka named GLIAC baseball player and pitcher of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the fourth week of the 2025 baseball season. Parkside redshirt junior outfielder Angel Rades earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors while Davenport redshirt senior righty Keegan Batka was recognized as GLIAC Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Angel Rades, Parkside
For the second time this season, a Parkside baseball player has been named GLIAC Player of the Week. Junior Angel Rades earned the honor after a stellar performance in Parkside’s four-game sweep over Lincoln Missouri. Rades and the Rangers made a statement over the weekend, outscoring Lincoln Missouri 70-25 en route to the best start in program history at 13-1. He set the tone early, reaching base safely in all four of his plate appearances in the series opener, finishing 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. As the series progressed, Rades only got better. In game two, he added another extra-base hit and reached base four more times, including three walks. He followed up with two more multi-hit performances on Sunday, showcasing his all-around ability by stealing two bases in game three. In the series finale, Rades capped off his dominant weekend by launching his first home run since his freshman year, taking a well-earned victory lap around the bases. By the end of the weekend, Rades had put together an incredible stat line, going 7-for-8 with five extra base hits, two stolen bases, and five walks. He raised his batting average to .472, along with an eye-popping .592 on-base percentage and a .722 slugging percentage.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Keegan Batka, Davenport
Davenport redshirt senior Keegan Batka followed up his GLIAC Pitcher of the Week award with another superb outing against Indianapolis. He threw a complete-game, seven-inning shutout against the Greyhounds in a 5-0 win. He allowed six hits with no walks and tied a season high with seven strikeouts. It was his third start this season of seven innings and no runs allowed and he now has a 1.00 ERA in 27 innings this season with a 4-0 record.
