GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 6 of the 2025 women's soccer season. Saginaw Valley State senior midfielder Kaley Douglass was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week and Michigan Tech senior goalkeeper Bri Barrows was honored as GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kaley Douglass, Saginaw Valley State
Senior Kaley Douglass led the Cardinal offense with two goals this weekend, one in both the 3-1 win over Purdue Northwest and the 4-1 win over Roosevelt on Senior Day. Douglass totaled five shots, two on goal, as SVSU claimed six points on the weekend. Douglass had two goals in her first three seasons and matched that amount in two matches.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Bri Barrows, Michigan Tech
Michigan Tech senior goalkeeper Bri Barrows has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. The Oxford, Michigan, native helped Michigan Tech to a 1-0 win over rival Northern Michigan on Sunday for the Huskies first win in Marquette since Sept. 30, 2018. Barrows made five saves facing a season-high 23 shots. The shutout was the first of the season for Barrows, the sixth of her career and the first shutout of the Wildcats since Oct. 3, 2021.
