GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the eighth week of competition of the 2024-25 swimming & diving season. Selected for honors were Grand Valley State senior Matt Bosch (men's swimming), Grand Valley State junior Katie O'Connell (women's swimming), Northern Michigan junior Tobie Stiles (men's diving) and Grand Valley State senior Maddie Kooistra (women's diving).
MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Matt Bosch, Grand Valley State
Matt Bosch has been named GLIAC Male Swimmer of the Week after breaking three pool records at the Calvin Winter Invite. He set new records in the 200 freestyle relay (1:18.81), the 200 freestyle (1:34.90), and the 100 freestyle (43.01).
WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Katie O'Connell, Grand Valley State
Katie O'Connell swam an impressive performance in the 400 IM at the Calvin Winter Invite last weekend, setting both a new school record and a pool record with a time of 4:18.16. She passed the previous school record by 2 seconds and broke the former pool record by nearly 4 seconds.
MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Tobie Stiles, Northern Michigan
Tobie Stiles had a remarkable weekend as the most dominant male diver at the Calvin College Winter Invite, where he finished first in both the 3-meter and 1-meter dive, earned an NCAA B cut in the 3-meter dive, and broke the team record in the 1-meter six-dive that he set last season.
WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Maddie Kooistra, Grand Valley State
Maddie Kooistra has been named GLIAC Women's Diver of the Week after a great weekend of diving. Kooistra took first place in both the 1-meter dive with a score of 466.25 and the 3-meter dive with an impressive 478.95.
