GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the 12th week of competition of the 2025-26 swimming & diving season. Three Grand Valley State student-athletes, Evan Scotto DiVetta (men's swimming), Katie O'Connell (women's swimming) and Matt Blommel (men's diving), were recognized in addition to Northern Michigan's Kalina Ceglinski (women's diving).
MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Evan Scotto DiVetta, Grand Valley State
Evan Scotto DiVetta was part of the 400 medley relay that took first place with a time of 3:16.09. He broke the pool record in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.12, finishing first. Scotto DiVetta also touched the wall at 44.23 to take first in the 100 freestyle and was part of the 200-yard freestyle relay that finished first with a time of 1:20.36.
WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Katie O'Connell, Grand Valley State
Katie O’Connell touched the wall at 10:13.05 in the 1,000 freestyle to take first place, breaking the pool record. She also finished second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.67 and placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.25, which was another new pool record.
MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Matt Blommel, Grand Valley State
Matthew Blommel scored a 302.63 in the 1-meter dive to take second place, and he also finished first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 301.9
WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Kalina Ceglinski, Northern Michigan
For the fifth time this season, standout diver Kalina Ceglinski has been named GLIAC Female Diver of the Week. A junior from Elmhurst, Illinois, the 2x All-American and Scholar All-American posted first-place finishes in both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards once again, earning 18 points for her team to aid in the 185-75 win over UW-Stevens Point. Ceglinski has finished first in all of her boards during competition this season. Ceglinski posted a score of 273.53 in the 1-meter before compiling a score of 281.93 in the 3-meter. According to the US Professional Diving Coaches Association (USPDCA) power rankings, Ceglinski is first in the nation in the 1 meter and fifth in the country in the 3-meter, averaging an optional score of 46.38 and 43.59 in the 1 and 3-meter, respectively.
