GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the 13th week of competition of the 2025-26 swimming & diving season. Wayne State swept the awards, with Kadem Goksu Erdagli (men's swimming), Emma Crispo (women's swimming), Max Wasiniak (men's diving) and Alicia Viaches (women's diving) earning honors.
MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Kadem Goksu Erdagli, Wayne State
After joining the team at semester, freshman Kadem Goksu Erdagli (Ankara, Turkey / Nazmi Arikan Science School) was named GLIAC Male Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his career. Starting with his Wayne State debut on Friday afternoon at home against Davenport, Erdagli won both the 1000 free (9:22.54) and 500 free (4:31.19). Then at Oakland the following day for the regular-season finale, the rookie touched the wall second in the 200 free relay (1:29.09 - second leg), fourth for the 1650 free (15:50.92) and fifth in the 100 free (48.02.
WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Emma Crispo, Wayne State
Sophomore Emma Crispo (Bergamo, Italy / Liceo Scientifico Statale Lorenzo Mascheroni) garnered GLIAC Female Swimmer of the Week honors for the first time in her career. Friday vs. the Panthers, Crispo finished first in the 200 IM (2:06.08) and third as the second leg of the 200 medley relay (1:48.34). The following afternoon against the Golden Grizzlies, the second-year Warrior's production included fifth in the 200 medley relay (1:54.15), sixth for the 200 IM (2:15.06) and eighth in the 100 back (1:04.30).
MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Max Wasiniak, Wayne State
Already a seven-time GLIAC Male Diver of the Week recipient, four of those seven have come during the 2025-26 season for junior Max Wasiniak (Huron, Ohio). While facing Davenport, Wasiniak was atop the podium for one meter (309.60) and three meters (337.50). Then against Oakland, the high flyer came in second at the lower height (272.55) and third at the higher (296.93).
WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Alicia Viaches, Wayne State
Like Erdagli and Crispo, sophomore Alicia Viaches also became a first-time honoree as she was named GLIAC Female Diver of the Week. With the Panthers inside the Matthaei Natatorium, Viaches was the winner at three meters (270.30) and second at one meter (239.33). The following competition against the Golden Grizzlies, the second-year Warrior's output included fourth at three meters (215.40).
