GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the fifth week of competition of the 2024-25 swimming & diving season. Selected for honors were St. Cloud State senior Raf Hendriks (men's swimming) and sophomore Jimmy Nord (men's diving) and Davenport senior Ella Wagner (women's swimming) and freshman Ana Perez-Rapolevich (women's diving).
MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Raf Hendriks, St. Cloud State
Senior Raf Hendriks posted winning times in all his individual events at the Coyote Extravaganza. On the first day of competition, he won the 200 freestyle (1:41.36) and the 100 backstroke (48.71). On the second day he picked up wins in the 200 freestyle (1:40.78) and the 200 backstroke (1:46.65). He also was part of four winning relays -- 200 Freestyle Relay (1:22.19 [4th leg]), 200 Medley Relay (1:30.17 [1st leg]), 400 Freestyle Relay (3:02.59 [1st leg]), 400 Medley Relay (1st at 3:20.72 [1st leg]).
WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Ella Wagner, Davenport
The senior from Steinhagen, Germany performed well at the West Michigan Invitational over the weekend hosted by Hope and Kalamazoo. She won the 200 fly in a time of 2:13.82 and also took second place in the 200 free (1:58.03) and 500 free (5:20.50).
MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Jimmy Nord, St. Cloud State
Sophomore Jimmy Nord won the 1-Meter Dive with 284.10 and placed second in the 3-Meter Dive (253.40) at the Coyote Extravaganza.
WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Ana Perez-Rapolevich, Davenport
The freshman from Grand Rapids Northview finished fourth on the one-meter, 11-dive with 326.90 points and fifth on the three-meter, 6-dive with 173.15 at the West Michigan Invitational.
