GLIAC announces swimmers and divers of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the sixth week of competition of the 2024-25 swimming & diving season. Selected for honors were freshman Estebam Nunez Del Prado (men's swimming), junior Lucy Hedley (women's swimming), junior Carter Wood (men's diving) and senior Maddie Kooistra (women's diving). 

MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Esteban Nunez Del Prado, Grand Valley State
Esteban Nunez Del Prado broke the school record for the 100 yard breast with a time of 53.59 and took first against the Grizzlies. He touched the wall in the 100 fly at 47.18 to take first place. Nunez Del Prado competed in the 200 IM and took second place with a time of 1:47.77.
WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Lucy Hedley, Grand Valley State
Lucy Hedley broke a school record last weekend against the Grizzlies of Oakland University in the 100 yard free, touching at 49.96. Hedley also touched the wall at 1:48.68 in the 200 free to take first. She competed in the Women’s 500 free with a time of 4:43.83 to take first place.
MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Carter Wood, Grand Valley State
Carter Wood competed against Oakland University last weekend and dove in the 1 mtr. Dive. Wood finished with a score of 300.00 to take first place. Wood competed in the 3 mtr. Dive but came up a little short with a score of 261.67 to take third place. 
WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Maddie Kooistra, Grand Valley State
Maddie Kooistra scored a 245.85 in the 1 mtr. Dive to take second place right behind the Oakland diver. Kooistra competed in the 3 mtr. Dive with a score of 221.55 to take third place.
