GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the 12th week of the 2026 tennis spring season. Grand Valley State swept the awards, with Bora Bakici and Natasha Sengphrachanh receiving recognition.
MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Bora Bakici, Grand Valley State
Bora Bakici has been named the GLIAC men's tennis player of the week for the first time in his career. Bakici earned straight set wins from the top singles position to help GVSU get past Wayne State and Davenport. He also picked up two doubles wins from the top position over the weekend. In the regular season, Bakici posted a 13-2 singles record going 6-0 from the top position and 7-2 from the No. 2 position. In doubles play, Bakici went 5-1 in conference play all from the top position.
WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Natasha Sengphrachanh, Grand Valley State
Natasha Sengphrachanh has been named the GLIAC women's tennis player of the week. Sengphrachanh posted two wins at the top singles position to help GVSU defeat Wayne State and Davenport. She also picked up a doubles win at the top position in the win over Davenport. Sengphrachanh finished the regular season with a perfect 14-0 singles record all from the top position and a 13-2 doubles record all from the top position. GVSU claimed the GLIAC regular season championship over the weekend with a perfect 7-0 conference mark.
