On Friday afternoon, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) released the women’s lacrosse preseason coaches’ poll. The Panthers came in at No. 4 in the rankings after finishing fourth a season ago.
In 2026, the Panthers will be under the guidance of first year head coach Frank Rogers. Rogers is the fifth head coach in program history and previously served as the head coach for Siena Heights.
In 2025, seven Panthers earned All-Conference honors. Of that group, four student-athletes return to the squad for another season.
Leading the list of returners is Gabby Basha, who earned First Team All-GLIAC honors a season ago. Basha finished the season with 21 goals and 12 assists. She also had 60 shots, including 49 on goal for an impressive 81.7 percent rate.
Ashley Sanders and Jade Remacle, a pair of Second Team All-Conference selections in 2025, will also be key pieces for DU in 2026. As a true freshman, Sanders played in 16 games and made 13 starts. Sanders also finished with 34 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers and three draw controls. Remacle played and started in all 17 games this season, the only Panther to do so. She totaled 31 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers and 25 draw controls.
Senior Alyssa Bird also returns after earning Honorable Mention All-GLIAC honors a season ago.
DU will start its season on Saturday, Feb. 14 on the road at Tiffin at 2 p.m. The Panthers will have their first home game on Sunday, March 15 at the DU Turf Field against Lewis at noon.
