GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 8 of the 2025-26 women's basketball season. Grand Valley State redshirt senior guard//forward Paige VanStee was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week while Roosevelt junior guard Marie Outlay was selected GLIAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Paige VanStee, Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State redshirt senior Paige VanStee has been selected GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, the third time she has been a Player of the Week in her career. Across two Laker victories, VanStee averaged 21.5 points and 9.5 rebounds, adding five assists and three steals. In Thursday’s 81-80 win over Wayne State, she tallied 18 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Her layup with 17 seconds left in the game proved the be the game-winner over the Warriors. On Saturday, VanStee recorded her second double-double of the season, notching a game-high 25 points, adding 11 boards, two assists, and two steals. This season, she is averaging 14.5 points and 6.3 rebounds, shooting 46.5% from the field.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Marie Outlay, Roosevelt
Marie Outlay was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season on Monday. The junior from Sun Prairie, Wis. recorded seven steals and five blocks across Roosevelt’s two games while also averaging 10.5 rebounds per game. Outlay anchored the Lakers on defense as Roosevelt held its two opponents to 54.5 points per game and 37.5 percent shooting, including 21.2 percent from 3-point range. It is the second weekly GLIAC honor of Outlay’s career and she ranks second in steals per game, sixth in blocks per game and third in rebounds per game in the conference.
