GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 3 of the 2025-26 women's basketball season. Ferris State senior guard Mia Riley was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week while Grand Valley State sophomore forward MacKenzie Bisballe was honored as GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mia Riley, Ferris State
Ferris State University senior guard Mia Riley led the 19th-ranked Bulldogs to a big regional win over Hillsdale in FSU’s lone action this past week, tallying a team-high 22 points and seven rebounds in the 79-68 victory over the Chargers inside Jim Wink Arena. Riley added three steals and two assists with a blocked shot in 24 minutes of work as Ferris State topped a Hillsdale team that held a 3-1 mark entering the game. She went eight-of-15 from the floor and hit two three’s along with four-of-six free throws as Ferris State improved to 6-1 on the year.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: MacKenzie Bisballe, Grand Valley State
For the first time this season, and the second time in her career, Grand Valley State sophomore MacKenzie Bisballe has been named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. Across two Laker victories, Bisballe totaled 23 points, 16 rebounds, four steals, three blocks, and three assists. In a 92-57 victory at Findlay, the Lake City, Michigan native recorded 16 points, eight boards, and a steal and was part of a defensive effort that helped hold the Oilers to a season-low scoring output. On Sunday, in the home opening win over Northwood, she had seven points, eight rebounds, three steals, and three blocks. The Laker defense held Northwood to just 56 points, their lowest point total this season. This season, Bisballe leads the Lakers with 14.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, while adding 10 steals and six blocks.
