GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 3 of the 2025 volleyball season. Parkside redshirt junior Ava Irvin was honored as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, Davenport sophomore defensive specialist Hayler Carr earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades and Davenport freshman setter Madison Berry was named GLIAC Setter of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ava Irvin, Parkside
For the second straight week, Ava Irvin has earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. She helped lead Parkside to a 2-0 start in conference play and the best overall start in program history. Irvin was dominant once again, totaling 32 kills (4.57 per set) across the two matches while also adding 4 service aces, 18 digs, and a block, including a double-double performance against Purdue Northwest. Through three weeks of play, she leads the GLIAC in kills with 139 on the season. Thanks to her efforts, Parkside improved to 9-0, their best start in program history.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hayley Carr, Davenport
Hayley Carr was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week after playing a pivotal role in both wins over the weekend. She led the squad in digs against both Northern Michigan (16) and Michigan Tech (25). In the win over the Wildcats, she notched a career-high six service aces in just three sets of action. She also recorded three aces against Michigan Tech. The sophomore is the third Panther to receive the honor in school history.
SETTER OF THE WEEK: Madison Berry, Davenport
Madison Berry earned Setter of the Week honors after finishing with match-highs in assists twice this weekend, finishing with 36 against Northern Michigan (Sept. 19) and 42 against Michigan Tech (Sept. 20). In the win over the Huskies, she also garnered 13 digs, marking her third double-double of the season. The freshman currently leads the conference in assists per set (11.0). She is the second Panther in school history to receive GLIAC Setter of the Week honors.
