GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and commissioner Kris Dunbar announced on Monday, Aug. 11 the addition of Ethan Berch to its staff as Director of Video Operations and Multimedia.
“The GLIAC is pleased to welcome Ethan to the conference office in this key role,” said Commissioner Kris Dunbar. “Ethan is a rising star in college athletics and came highly recommended by his peers. We look forward to him applying his knowledge of the GLIAC, his varied skill set and his overall experience to assist in further promoting the conference brand.”
Berch, originally from Long Island, N.Y., joins the GLIAC following two years at conference-member Parkside, serving as its Broadcasting and Sports Information Graduate Assistant. For the Rangers, he was the primary play-by-play voice for all Parkside Athletics broadcasts, including pregame and postgame shows, assisted with the production of in-house video projects consisting of weekly interviews with athletes and coaches and worked full-time in the athletic communications department, acting as the contact for volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball and baseball.
For his standout service to Parkside athletics, Berch was named the 2025 Staff Member of the Year.
Berch also gained industry experience by completing internships with Mandalay Sports Media in Los Angeles, the Keene Swamp Bats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League and the Syracuse Salt Cats of the New York Collegiate Baseball League.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the prestigious GLIAC team,” said Berch. “Having worked within the conference for the past two years at UW-Parkside, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the people and programs that make it so special. I’m grateful to Kris, John, and Michael at the GLIAC for trusting me with this opportunity, and to everyone at Parkside who supported me along the way. We have so many exciting things ahead for the 2025–26 athletic season, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Berch holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Television and Digital Media Production from Ithaca College and a Master of Science in Sports Management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
