DETROIT -- Wayne State University men's cross country redshirt senior Eli DiCerbo (Clinton Township, Mich. / Fraser / Macomb Mathematics Science and Technology Center [MMSTC]) was selected as one of the 10 male recipients of the Inaugural Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Fall). Twenty (20) student-athletes across collegiate fall sports were selected for leadership, service, and community impact.
The Clinton Township product earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors during his rookie campaign in 2021 after finishing 22nd at the conference meet and was named the team's Newcomer of the Year. The student-athlete has competed in seven events for the Green and Gold.
DiCerbo, within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (term GPA 3.5+) in each of his first eight semesters at WSU while posting a 4.0 GPA in seven terms. In addition, the redshirt senior has garnered GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team accolades three times (2022-24), is a three-time recipient of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, and has twice been a Deans' Award recipient from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (2023-24 / 2024-25)for having the highest cumulative grade-point average of any student-athlete in that college.
Within the community, DiCerbo has assisted with volunteer efforts at the Detroit Marathon, the Belle Isle Triathlon, and with food and clothing drives for Wayne State's W Pantry, logging over 135 hours of service.
