GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the third week of the 2025 tennis spring season. Wayne State freshman George Day and Davenport freshman Sienna Opray were selected for recognition.

MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: George Day, Wayne State
George Day (Southampton, United Kingdom / Peter Symonds College) helped lift the Wayne State University men’s tennis team over top of both Case Western Reserve University and the University of Northwestern Ohio this past weekend.  In doubles competition, Day and his partner Cedric Drenth (Sulzbach, Germany / Altkönigschule Kronberg) took care of business as they prevailed against CWRU’s top pairing 6-3, and the No. 1 duo for UNOH 6-2.  In singles, the freshman won 7-5, 6-2 in the match against the Spartans and triumphed in the No. 1 singles position 6-4, 6-2 vs. the Racers.
WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sienna Opray, Davenport
Sienna Opray of the Davenport University women’s tennis team has been named the GLIAC Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday morning. The freshman finished the weekend with a 5-1 record overall, while going a perfect 3-0 in singles action. All three of those singles victories came while slotted at the No. 1 position, only dropping one set in total over the weekend.
