GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 7 of the 2025 football season. Northern Michigan redshirt freshman running back Noah Dobert was recognized as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, Ferris State senior defensive back Gyasi Mattison earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors and Saginaw Valley State junior kicker/punter Teagen Linderink was named GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Noah Dobert, Northern Michigan
Northern Michigan redshirt freshman running back Noah Dobert delivered a career performance in Northern Michigan’s 42-21 win over Roosevelt, rushing for 243 yards and three touchdowns as the Wildcats shattered their single-game rushing record with 538 yards on the ground, surpassing the previous mark of 477 set in 1959 vs. UW-Milwaukee. Dobert opened the scoring midway through the second quarter with a 10-yard touchdown and later added two more in the fourth, including a short-yardage plunge that sealed the victory. He averaged nearly 6.1 yards per carry on 40 attempts, with the ability to both grind out tough yards and break open big runs. His vision and acceleration consistently moved the chains, helping Northern control possession for over 38 minutes. Teaming up with Jahi Wood, who added 233 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries, the pair became only the seventh duo in Division II history to each surpass 200 rushing yards in the same game. Together, they combined for all six of Northern’s touchdowns and 476 of the team’s 538 rushing yards, spearheading one of the most dominant ground attacks in college football history. Dobert’s three-touchdown performance in a historic showing on the ground earned him his first GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Gyasi Mattison, Ferris State
Ferris State University senior defensive back Gyasi Mattison had a big day for the nationally top-ranked Bulldogs in an impressive 38-10 road win at Michigan Tech on Saturday. Mattison came up with two of FSU’s five total interceptions in the game, all of which came in the opening half of play as the Bulldogs built a 21-3 halftime lead. He also ranked among the team leaders with five total tackles in the game. His play helped the FSU defense limit MTU to only 219 yards of total offense and only a two-of-three (15%) showing on third down. Overall, the Bulldogs have given up 10 points or less in each of their last four outings with three shutouts while outscoring the opposition 239-10 in the stretch. The win was FSU’s 21st consecutive triumph dating back to last year.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Teagen Lenderink, Saginaw Valley State
Saginaw Valley State junior kicker/punter Teagen Lenderink was a difference-maker in the Cardinals’ 20–19 victory at No. 7 Grand Valley State in the Battle of the Valleys on Saturday. Lenderink accounted for 10 of SVSU’s 20 points, going a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals from 53, 25, and 49 yards. His 53-yarder was his career-long as a Cardinal. In addition to his scoring, Lenderink handled all punting and kickoff duties, averaging 46.2 yards on five punts with a long of 53 and 57.5 yards on four kickoffs, including two touchbacks.
