FSU's Carter, Tech's Koch and Kucharski recognized as GLIAC football players of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 6 of the 2025 football season. Ferris State sophomore quarterback Chase Carter was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, Michigan Tech junior linebacker Chase Koch received GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors and Michigan Tech sophomore kicker Avery Kucharski earned GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week recognition. 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chase Carter, Ferris State
Ferris State University quarterback Chase Carter had a strong performance on Saturday as the top-ranked Bulldogs claimed their school-record 20th consecutive win by beating Wayne State 59-0 at Top Taggart Field. Carter ran for a team-high 114 yards on 11 carries, averaging 10.4 yards per rush, and scored twice on the ground. He also completed seven-of-10 passes for 112 yards and a score in the triumph. His play helped FSU roll up 639 yards of total offense and 439 rushing yards in the contest. The Bulldogs built a 42-0 halftime lead while cruising to their third consecutive shutout triumph and have now outscored the opposition 201-0 over the last three games.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chase Koch, Michigan Tech
Michigan Tech junior linebacker Chase Koch has earned his first GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week accolade. Koch, a native of Madison, Wisconsin, recorded his second interception in two games and tied the team-high with eight total tackles, six solo and two assists in Saturday’s win to keep the Huskies undefeated on the road at 4-0.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Avery Kucharski, Michigan Tech
Michigan Tech sophomore kicker Avery Kucharski was tabbed GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season. Kucharski, hailing from Portage, Michigan, recorded a season-high three field goal makes going 3-for-4 completing a long of 43 yards in addition to connections from 23 and 22 yards while also adding a PAT. The sophomore added five kickoffs for 221 yards to help Michigan Tech start 2-0 in GLIAC Play.
