The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 3 of the 2026 volleyball season. Ferris State outside hitter Emily May was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, Michigan Tech defensive specialist Keeley Nellis was honored as GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week and Ferris State setter Hayley Wegener received GLIAC Setter of the Week recognition.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Emily May, Ferris State
Ferris State University junior hitter Emily May had a big week as the nation’s top-ranked Bulldogs won their first two league matches of the year. May hit an impressive .510 overall and came up with a squad-best 28 kills in the two contests while adding three digs, two blocks and an ace. She had 11 kills in Tuesday’s road sweep at Roosevelt and then came back with a team-leading 17 kills on Friday in a 3-2 home win over Parkside as FSU improved to 10-0 overall this season. May posted a .733 attack percentage versus Roosevelt with 11 kills and no errors on 15 attempts.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Keeley Nellis, Michigan Tech
Michigan Tech junior libero Keeley Nellis led the Huskies with 47 digs on the weekend, averaging 5.22 digs per set. She tallied 25 digs at Davenport on Friday and 22 in a win at Saginaw Valley State on Saturday. Nellis ranks second in the GLIAC in total digs (179) and fifth in digs per set (4.16). She has hit the 20-dig plateau five times in 2026.
SETTER OF THE WEEK: Hayley Wegener, Ferris State
Ferris State University junior setter Hayley Wegener had another big week as the nation’s top-ranked Bulldogs started GLIAC play off with a 2-0 record. She tallied 93 assists in two matches, averaging 11.63 assists per set. In addition, she added 19 digs, four blocks and three kills. Wegener had 34 assists with seven digs and three kills in Tuesday’s 3-0 league-opening road win at Roosevelt before coming back to notch 59 assists, 12 digs and four blocks in Friday’s 3-2 home win over Parkside as FSU improved to 10-0 overall this year.
