GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the first week of the 2026 tennis spring season. Ferris State sophomore Jose Perez and Grand Valley State sophomore Natasha Sengphrachanh were selected for recognition.
MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jose Perez, Ferris State
Sophomore Jose Perez had a big day for the Bulldogs in FSU's 5-2 road setback to nationally-ranked Indianapolis on Sunday. Perez beat the nation's #21-ranked player at two singles, posting a 7-6, 6-3 triumph to get Ferris State on the board. He also teamed up with Kacper Pasielak for a 7-6 win at three doubles in the contest. The outing marked the spring regular-season debut for the Bulldogs.
WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Natasha Sengphrachanh, Grand Valley State
Natasha Sengphrachanh has been named the GLIAC women's tennis player of the week. Sengphrachanh posted a singles and doubles win from the top position in an exhibition match against Chicago. She claimed a 6-2, 6-3 win in singles and a 6-2 win in doubles to help GVSU defeat Chicago 4-3. The Lakers will begin the 2026 fall regular season this Friday, February 6th when they host Findlay at 12:00 PM.
