GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the sixth full week of competition of the 2025-26 indoor track & field season. Grand Valley State athletes earned two conference honors -- Lauren Kiley (women's track) and Erika Beistle (women's field) -- while Saginaw Valley State's Sawyer Moloy was named GLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week and Parkside's Doug Martin was selected as GLIAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Doug Martin, Parkside
Doug Martin has been named the GLIAC Runner of the Week after multiple strong performances at the GVSU Big Meet this weekend. On Friday, Martin delivered a career best performance in the 800 meters, shattering a school record, and hitting NCAA Provo with a time of 1:48.70 which is the fourth fastest in the nation. Martin followed that up competing in the Distance Medley Relay which hit NCAA Provo on Saturday and the 4x400 relay.
WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Lauren Kiley, Grand Valley State
In her second 3000m race of the season, Kiley moves to No. 10 in NCAA Division II with a season-best 9:28.22. The reigning 3000m champ shaved six seconds off her previous season-best (9:34.76) to finish second in the event at Friday’s GVSU Big Meet as the top collegiate athlete. At the time of her finish, Kiley ranked seventh all-conditions in DII. The honor marks Kiley’s second GLIAC weekly award this season.
MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Sawyer Moloy, Saginaw Valley State
Sawyer Moloy earns the third GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week award of his career, first in 2026, after winning the men's high jump at the GVSU Big Meet over the weekend. Moloy matched his PR after clearing the bar at 2.18m, which sits atop the NCAA Division II Indoor Qualifying list. He cleared the bar at 2.05m, 2.14m, and 2.18m in his first attempt to win the event.
WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Erika Beistle, Grand Valley State
For the fourth time this season, Beistle has been named GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week. The redshirt senior has been on a tear this season, updating her personal-best in the event week after week. Just three weeks ago, she broke the record with a 17.78m (58-4) mark to pass Zada Swoopes’s 17.68m (58-0.25) mark from 2022. Most recently, Beistle broke the NCAA Division II record in shot put at this weekend’s Big Meet. On her third throw of the day, Beistle rewrote the NCAA Division II record, launching for 18.26m (59-11) and outhrowing Olympian Adelaide Aquilla. With her updated mark, Beistle ranks fifth across all NCAA divisions and 18th in the world.
