GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the fifth full week of competition of the 2025-26 indoor track & field season. Grand Valley State athletes earned two conference honors -- Joshua Page (men's track) and Shelby Ulven (women's field) -- while Saginaw Valley State's Andrew Quinn was named GLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week and Wayne State's Emily Gordon was selected as GLIAC Women's Track Athlere of the Week.
MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Joshua Page, Grand Valley State
Following his school record-breaking performance at this weekend’s Ashland University Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational, Page has earned his first GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors. Up against Ashland alum and Adidas athlete Trevor Bassitt, Page rounded the 400m track in 46.57, shaving more than one second off his previous personal-best (47.44) in the indoor event. The time shattered Myles Rhodes’s program record of 47.42 and ranks him third in NCAA Division II.
WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Emily Gordon, Wayne State
Wayne State University mid-distance runner Emily Gordon (Northville, Mich.) has been selected GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week after eclipsing her own school record by over two seconds in the mile. The graduate student took first place in the event at the annual W-C-W (Warriors-Cardinals-Wildcats) meet hosted this year by SVSU. Her first place finish helped WSU earn the team title. It was Gordon's first time running the mile race in more than a year.
MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Andrew Quinn, Saginaw Valley State
Andrew Quinn earns his first GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week Award after a record setting weekend at the Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational in Ashland, Ohio. Quinn broke the SVSU indoor record in the shot put with a throw of 18.27m (7th-best in NCAA DII) to win the men’s shot put Elite event. He collected a second win in the men’s weight throw with a toss of 17.13m.
WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Shelby Ulven, Grand Valley State
Redshirt senior Shelby Ulven broke her personal-best yet again at this weekend’s GVSU Mike Lints Alumni Meet. Throughout the season, Ulven has consistently thrown over 19.50m (63-11), a mark she couldn’t quite reach until this season. In this field series, Ulven had three of five throws land at 19.70m (64-7) or further. It was her third throw that landed her a new personal-best mark of 19.95m (65-5.5). The mark solidifies her rank at No. 6 in program history and No. 4 across NCAA Division II women’s weight throw.
