2026 Roosevelt Baseball Season Preview

Roosevelt jumps into its second season in the GLIAC with a new energy and spirit throughout the entire program. Almost all of the major contributors from last year’s conference tournament squad graduated, so a new crop of freshmen and transfers will be expected to carry on the momentum in 2026.

The Lakers made an instant impact in their new conference last season, qualifying for the GLIAC Tournament on the last day of the regular season. Roosevelt lost six games in conference play last season by one or two runs, holding late leads in many of those contests. That experience should pay dividends for the returners who are expected to lead the charge for the Lakers this season.

The two most notable returners for the Lakers are the catching duo of Jack Hoh and Kyle Jannenga, who both provide some pop with the bat in their hands. Jannenga batted .265 with 16 extra-base hits and 30 RBI last season while Hoh added 18 RBI and a pair of home runs. On the mound, Kevin Schroer is the only arm returning for Roosevelt who appeared in more than five games a year ago. The junior had five saves in 17 appearances for Roosevelt in 2025.
