DU's Walker and GVSU's Wilkerson honored as GLIAC men's basketball players of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 10 of the 2025-26 men's basketball season. Davenport junior guard Ken Walker earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors while Grand Valley State redshirt junior guard David Wilkerson was named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ken Walker, Davenport
Junior guard Ken Walker guided the Panthers to a pair of road wins over Roosevelt and Parkside this week. He scored 26 at Roosevelt on Thursday and then was two points better with 28 on Saturday at Parkside. Walker has scored 20 or more points in nine games this season. For the week, he has ultra efficient going 17-of-30 from the floor, including 10-of-18 from behind the arc. He also connected on all 10 of his free throws and is now 30-of-31 from the foul line in road games this season. In addition, Walker dished out six assists and committed just two turnovers in 66 minutes. He is now tied at 22.1 points per game for the GLIAC scoring title.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: David Wilkerson, Grand Valley State
David WIlkerson has been named the GLIAC defensive player of the week for the first time this season. Wilkerson notched a career high six rebounds and four steals in the 84-80 overtime win at Ferris State. He followed that up by swiping two steals and grabbing four rebounds in the 77-67 road win at Parkside. In the 87-69 win at Roosevelt, the redshirt junior notched three steals, four rebounds, and two blocks. Over the three road games last week, Wilkerson posted 14 rebounds, nine steals, and three blocks to help GVSU go 3-0 on the road. The Lakers have won six straight games and seven of the last eight as they are now 15-3 overall and third place in the GLIAC standings with an 8-2 mark.
