GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the eighth week of the 2025 softball season. Saginaw Valley State swept the honors, with junior infielder Olivia Elliott receiving GLIAC Player of the Week and sophomore lefty Aalana Kimble earning GLIAC Pitcher of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Olivia Elliott, Saginaw Valley State
Olivia Elliott had a dominant week for the Cardinals as she went 11-for-16 with 16 RBI and four home runs including a grand slam in game one at PNW. She led the team in hits, home runs, RBI, and batting average (.688) for the week. She hit a home run in four of the six games this week including a streak of three-straight games with a home run in the two games against the Pride and game one on Sunday versus GVSU.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Aalana Kimble, Saginaw Valley State
Aalana Kimble made three appearances for SVSU in the circle this week. She went 3-0 in those showings and totaled 23 strikeouts including a 12 K game against Ferris State that set a career high in that category. It was also the first time in her collegiate career that she recorded 10+ strikeouts in a single game. She finished the week allowing just two earned runs and an ERA of 0.93 with 15.0 innings of work.
