GVSU's Rothe and Ferrie selected for GLIAC women's lacrosse player of the week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the 11th week of play of the 2025 women's lacrosse season. Grand Valley State swept the honors, with senior midfielder Ashleigh Rothe earning GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week and graduate student defender Elora Ferrie receiving GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ashleigh Rothe, Grand Valley State
GVSU senior midfielder Ashleigh Rothe was selected as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. She totaled six points on four goals and two assists, adding three draw controls, two groundballs, and caused two turnovers. By playing against the Panthers, Rothe appeared in the 76 th game of her career, the most by any player in program history. The senior leads the team with 42 goals, 22 assists, 64 points, and 29 groundballs. She is also second in the conference in points per game, while ranking third in goals and assists per game.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Elora Ferrie, Grand Valley State
For the second time this season, Grand Valley State defender Elora Ferrie has been named GLIAC Defender of the Week. In the lone game this week for the Lakers, Ferrie caused three turnovers and picked up two groundballs in the 17-6 win over Davenport. The graduate student played a key role in holding the Panther offense to less than half of their scoring average, as well as held their three leading scorers to a combined one point. This season, Ferrie has recorded 14 groundballs and caused 12 turnovers.
