2026 GLIAC ATTACKER OF THE YEAR
Josie Lakosky, Northern Michigan
Josie Lakosky has earned GLIAC Attacker of the Year for the second consecutive season thanks to an explosive junior campaign. A native of Victoria, Minnesota, Lakosky (96-36--132) has proven to be the best goal scorer in the DII lacrosse landscape all season long, as she paces the nation in goals, goals per game (5.65), points, points per game (7.76), and shots on goal (162). Lakosky is also second in the nation in shots (193), shots per game (11.35), and shots on goal per game (9.53). When dialing the stats back to the eight GLIAC matches only, Lakosky leads the conference in nearly every category: goals (52), G/G (6.50), points (73), PTS/G (9.13), assists (21), A/G (2.63), shots (100), S/G (12.50), draw controls (56), DC/G (7.00), caused turnovers (19), and CT/G (2.38). Lakosky has earned five GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and back-to-back IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week honors during weeks eight and nine of the season, after scoring eight goals and three assists for 11 points in one game, followed up by 14 goals and five assists for 19 points in two games the following weekend. Lakoky then followed that up with a 10-goal and 15-point outing against Saginaw Valley, where she set the NMU single-game record in goals and points. Lakosky’s 2026 campaign and legacy will forever be engraved at NMU. Josie has set NMU career-bests in shots on goal, ground balls, and caused turnovers; has broken every single-season Wildcat statistical record; is on pace to become the first 100-goal scorer in Wildcat history; and is just nine goals away from matching Minnie Bittell’s 219 career goal record in nearly 20 fewer games played.
2026 GLIAC MIDFIELDER OF THE YEAR
Ella Boose, Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State senior Ella Boose has been named GLIAC Midfielder of the Year. Boose helped lead the Lakers to another GLIAC regular season title, pacing the team in goals, points, and draw controls. She ranks second in the league with 49 goals and 60 points, and her 60 draw controls ranked fourth. Twice named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, Boose posted nine games with three or more goals this season, including six in league play. A First-Team All-GLAIC selection, Boose recorded the 100th point, 100th goal, and 100th draw control of her career earlier this season. She becomes the seventh Laker to Midfielder of the Year honors.
2026 GLIAC DEFENDER OF THE YEAR
Karleigh Rothe, Grand Valley State
Senior defender Karleigh Rothe of Grand Valley State has been named GLIAC Defender of the Year. This season, Rothe has tallied 34 groundballs and caused 23 turnovers, both second on the team. She has played a key role on a defense that has held 10 straight opponents, including all GLIAC teams, to eight goals or fewer in a game. Now a three-time All-GLIAC honoree, Rothe has seven games this season causing multiple turnovers and nine games with two or more groundballs. She becomes the ninth player in program history to earn this award.
2026 GLIAC GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR
Sarah Krause, Grand Valley State
For the second straight season, GVSU senior Sarah Krause was named GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year. Krause recorded 123 saves on a .488 save percentage, posting an 8.77 goal against average. During conference play, she has been on another level, allowing just over four goals a game, while tallying a save percentage of .633, winning all eight contests. She ranks in the top 15 nationally in both save percentage and goals against average, while being in the top 40 in saves and saves per game. Krause became just the fifth player in program history to save over 200 shots, and her 274 career saves currently ranks second in program history. She is the second player in program history to win two GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year awards, and the sixth Laker goalie to win.
2026 GLIAC FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Kacie Stolarek, Davenport
Despite missing time this season due to injury, Davenport's Kacie Stolarek leads the team in ground balls (45) caused turnovers (35) and draw controls (62). The best game of the season for Stolarek was in the season opener against Tiffin. The freshman finished with 19 draw controls, the third most in a single game in school history. She also had eight ground balls and six caused turnovers, both marking season-highs for the defender.Stolarek also added six goals on the season on seven shots.
