2025 GLIAC ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Anais Ruyssen, Wayne State
Anais Ruyssen (Nantes, France / Enfants-Nantais [Keiser]) aided the Wayne State University women's tennis team to a flawless 8-0 record in conference action along with the No. 1-seed heading into the GLIAC Tournament. Ruyssen capped her illustrious career with a strong campaign that included a 15-7 mark in singles competition and a 22-8 record in doubles with her partner, Dea Gorgidze (Tbilisi, Georgia Tbilisi Public School N145 [Western Michigan]). The graduate student flourished against GLIAC foes, tallying a 7-1 mark in both singles and doubles and assisting the Green and Gold to four 7-0 conference wins while being named GLIAC women's tennis Player of the Week during the final week of the regular season. Ruyssen has now garnered GLIAC Player of the Year status three times in her career (2021-22, 2023-24, 2024-25) and makes it back-to-back seasons earning the award.
2025 GLIAC FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Sienna Opray, Davenport
Primarily playing at the No. 1 position, Sienna Opray picked up 20 singles victories in her first season with DU. The Melbourne, Australia native went on a 12-match winning streak in singles play at the beginning of the spring season. She also finished the season with 17 doubles victories, playing the majority of the season at the No. 1 slot with Skye Vandeleur. Opray earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors three times this season. With the nod, Opray is the first women’s tennis player in school history to collect a major award since the Panthers joined the GLIAC in 2017.
2025 GLIAC COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR
Wayne State
Head Coach Yahsha Moore is in her first full season at the helm for the Wayne State University women's tennis squad and eighth total with the program. While under her tutelage, the Warriors posted an 11-3 overall record that included a perfect 8-0 against GLIAC opponents. Moore led the Green and Gold to its second consecutive No. 1-seed in the GLIAC Tournament and guided Anais Ruyssen to Player of the Year honors. Along with Ruyssen, Moore helped Malak Arafat, Dea Gorgidze, and Shantala Uzcategui earn All-GLIAC marks in singles, while the pairings of Ruyssen and Gorgidze, and Arafat and Justine Beaulieu, were voted as All-GLIAC in doubles.  Moore is assisted by Phoenix Williams who joined the squad in the spring of the 2025 season.
