GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the seventh week of play of the 2025 women's lacrosse season. Grand Valley State freshman midfielder Kendra Swope received GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors while Grand Valley State junior goalkeeper Sarah Krause was selected GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kendra Swope, Grand Valley State
Freshman midfielder Kendra Swope has earned the first GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors of her career. She scored four goals, adding six groundballs and three caused turnovers, playing against two ranked opponents. On Friday against Maryville, Swope tallied two goals, picked up four groundballs, and caused one turnover. That was followed up with two more goals, two groundballs, and two caused turnovers in Sunday’s game against UIndy. This season, Swope has 12 points, nine goals and three assists, to go along with 14 groundballs, seven draw controls, and four caused turnovers.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sarah Krause, Grand Valley State
Junior goalkeeper Sarah Krause has earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Krause picked up 13 saves in 60 minutes of action, to surpass 100 saves in her career. She saved seven shots, allowing four goals, against fifth-ranked Maryville on Friday. Then on Sunday, playing the number nine team in the country UIndy, Krause tallied six more saves to reach 100 for her career. This is the first GLIAC Player of the Week honor in Krause’s career.
