GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the fifth week of play of the 2025 women's lacrosse season. Northern Michigan sophomore attacker Josie Lakosky was honored as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week while Davenport senior midfielder Theadora Krueger was selected as GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Josie Lakosky, Northern Michigan
For the second time this season, sophomore forward Josie Lakosky has earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Over the ‘Cats spring break road trip, Lakosky scored 12 goals and four assists for 16 points over three games. All 16 of her points came in the first two games of the road trip, a 13-14 OTL to Quincy and an 18-6 win over Missouri Western. Lakosky had a career-defining game against the Griffons, setting a program record for most points in a single game. Lakosky recorded seven goals and three assists for ten points, beating the previous mark of nine. The sophomore attacker also set career-records in goals and points in a single game, beating her previous record of six goals and seven points.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Theadora Krueger, Davenport
Davenport senior midfielder Theadora Krueger helped the Panthers to a pair of wins over Findlay and Ashland this week and extended the team's win streak to four games in the process. She led the team with six ground balls and four caused turnovers in the 9-3 win at Findlay on Thursday. In addition, Kreuger was instrumental in the 11-10 double overtime win on Saturday at Ashland. She recorded four ground balls, four draw controls, two caused turnovers, and tallied two goals and one assist. Also in a 19-7 win over Fort Lewis on March 1, Krueger had three goals, two assists, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and three draw controls.
