CSP's Fischer and McGowan selected as GLIAC women's lacrosse players of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the first week of play of the 2025 women's lacrosse season. Concordia-St. Paul swept the honors, with senior attacker Anna Fischer receiving GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and senior defender Meghan McGowan earning GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Anna Fischer, Concordia-St. Paul
Anna Fisher led the Golden Bears to their first win of the 2025 campaign scoring a career-high six goals. She tallied one assist to bring her total game points to seven which ties her career game high that ranks her eighth all-time in total points in a single-game for the Golden Bears. Fisher also tied for fourth in the single-game goals scored all-time for the program. She recorded 10 shots with nine coming on goal in a full-60 minute outing. She’s leading the GLIAC in goals per game, points per game and shots per game. 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Meghan McGowan, Concordia-St. Paul
Meghan McGowan helped lead the Golden Bears to their first win of the season where she played a full 60-minute outing that saw her record three caused turnovers and three ground balls. She leads the GLAIC in caused turnovers after the first weekend of play.
