GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 4 of the 2024 volleyball season. Ferris State senior outside hitter Olivia Henneman-Dallape four-peated as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week while Bulldog teammate senior setter Kaylee Maat earned GLIAC Setter of the Week recognition for the second consecutive week. Parkside sophomore defensive specialist Natalie Harris was named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Olivia Henneman-Dallape, Ferris State
Ferris State University senior outside hitter Olivia Henneman-Dallape fueled the nation’s #5 Bulldogs to a road sweep in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula this past weekend as FSU stayed perfect on the year at 11-0 overall. Henneman-Dallape posted a team-best 40 kills with only 10 errors on 95 attacks for a .316 hitting figure in road wins at Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan. She added three solo blocks and three assists on the weekend. Overall, she compiled 45.5 points for a 6.50 points per set average and totaled 5.71 kills per set on the trip. The senior leader had 18 kills in Friday’s 3-0 sweep over the Huskies and came back with 22 kills on Saturday in a 3-1 triumph at NMU.f
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Natalie Harris, Parkside
After helping the Rangers to a perfect weekend, Natalie Harris was named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. This marks the third time Harris has been honored with a weekly GLIAC award. The Rangers went 2-0 with wins over Purdue Northwest and Roosevelt. Harris, who leads the GLIAC in digs with 206, continued her dominance this past weekend. The sophomore began the weekend by digging 14 attacks against Purdue Northwest en route to a sweep on the road. The Rangers put together a repeat performance against Roosevelt on Saturday behind another Natalie Harris masterclass. She once again led the game in digs with 17. Harris helped the Rangers hold both teams to less than a .150 hitting percentage.
SETTER OF THE WEEK: Kaylee Maat, Ferris State
Ferris State University senior setter Kaylee Maat helped lead the nation’s #5 Bulldogs to a road sweep in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula this past weekend as FSU stayed perfect on the year at 11-0 overall. The senior leader had 69 total assists on the weekend to go with 20 digs and nine kills along with two solo blocks and three block assists. Maat averaged 9.86 assists and 2.86 digs per set for the Bulldogs in addition to her five total blocks. She had 25 assists with 11 digs in Friday’s 3-0 sweep over the Huskies and came back with 44 assists, nine digs and four blocks on Saturday in a 3-1 triumph at NMU.
