GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 3 of the 2024 volleyball season. Ferris State senior outside hitter Olivia Henneman-Dallape was selected GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the third-straight week, Northern Michigan senior middle blocker Meghan Meyer was honored as GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week and FSU senior setter Kaylee Maat was named GLIAC Setter of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Olivia Henneman-Dallape, Ferris State
Ferris State University senior outside hitter Olivia Henneman-Dallape led the ninth-ranked Bulldogs to a pair of conference road wins to open GLIAC play over the weekend as FSU improved to 9-0 overall. The Bulldog senior finished the weekend with 36 kills and hit .314 overall as FSU topped #16 rival Grand Valley State in the league opener on Friday evening in Allendale before sweeping Wayne State by a 3-0 score on Saturday in Detroit. Henneman-Dallape recorded 5.14 kills per set and finished with 5.86 points per set in the two wins. She had a team-high 19 kills in the win over GVSU along with a squad-best 17 kills against Wayne State, hitting an impressive .571 against the Warriors with only a single attack error on 28 attempts.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Meghan Meyer, Northern Michigan
Northern Michigan senior middle blocker Meghan Meyer has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week after the first week of conference play. Meyer helped lead the Wildcats to a pair of road wins over Parkside and Purdue Northwest. The Ada, Michigan native recorded nine blocks over the weekend, including five solo. Meyer rejected six attacks against Parkside, a season-high and just one off of her career-best performance. She also reached double-digit kills in both contests, with a season-high 14 kills against Purdue Northwest and a .643 attack percentage at Parkside, the second-best mark across the league over the weekend.
SETTER OF THE WEEK: Kaylee Maat, Ferris State
Ferris State University senior setter Kaylee Maat led the ninth-ranked Bulldogs to a pair of conference road wins to open GLIAC play over the weekend as FSU improved to 9-0 overall. Maat tallied 72 assists to go with 17 digs, six kills and an ace as FSU pulled out a 3-1 triumph over #16 rival Grand Valley State on Friday night in Allendale before sweeping Wayne State 3-0 on Saturday in Detroit. The veteran setter recorded 35 assists with eight digs, two kills and an ace in the win over GVSU before netting 37 assists, nine digs and four kills against the Warriors. For the weekend, she averaged 10.29 assists along with 2.43 digs per set for the Bulldogs.
