FSU's Henneman-Dallape, GVSU's Stawski and WSU's Dulgar honored as GLIAC volleyball player of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 5 of the 2024 volleyball season. Ferris State senior outside hitter Olivia Henneman-Dallape five-peated as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, Grand Valley State redshirt sophomore middle hitter Brianna Stawski received GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition and Wayne State sophomore setter Kayla Dulgar secured GLIAC Setter of the Week honors. 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Olivia Henneman-Dallape, Ferris State
Ferris State University senior outside hitter Olivia Henneman-Dallape had another impressive week for the nation’s #5 Bulldogs as FSU improved to 14-0 overall and stayed unbeaten atop the GLIAC standings. Henneman-Dallape compiled a squad-best 38 kills in three matches, including 27 on the weekend in 3-0 home sweeps over Parkside and Purdue Northwest to go with 11 she had in a non-league encounter at Northwood early last week. The standout hitter hit .511 for the weekend and averaged 5.00 points per set overall for the Bulldogs. She added 13 digs and five total blocks for the week.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brianna Stawski, Grand Valley State
For the second time this season, GVSU redshirt sophomore Brianna Stawski has been named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. The middle hitter recorded nine blocks on the weekend, to go along with 19 kills on a .471 hitting percentage. In Thursday’s victory over Wayne State, Stawski totaled 10 kills on a .318 swinging percentage and three blocks. To close out the weekend, Stawski swung at a .750 clip to generate nine kills and recorded six blocks.
SETTER OF THE WEEK: Kayla Dulgar, Wayne State
Kayla Dulgar (Warsaw, Ohio / River View) was named GLIAC Setter of the Week for the third time in her career and first time this season on Monday afternoon. The most-recent honor comes after Dulgar racked up 88 assists and 11 assists per set in Wayne State's two matches last week. On Thursday night in a five-set loss to No. 16 Grand Valley State, the sophomore racked up a personal best 57 assists to go with 21 digs for her fifth double-double of the fall.  Then on Friday evening's sweep of Roosevelt, the 5-7 Warrior accounted for 31 assists and seven digs. Dulgar's other totals for the two outings included four kills, two total blocks and a service ace.
